Beginning in Portland Maine's Old Port Area 30 years ago. We have strived to provide our patrons with a comfortable enviroment in which to enjoy great food, beer and company. The environment is both energenitic and comfortable, allowing families and friends to gather for a great time while they are here.
In February of 1980 we opened our doors on the corner of Union and Fore St. on the edge of the Old Port Area. We are Portland, Maine's "Original Ale House", in the beginning we didn't carry any domestic beers only imported ones. Then in 1995 we moved to the corner of Commecial and Union St. where we decided to carry domestic made beers as well as the imported ones.
We have evolved over the years and moved to a larger space however, the folks that were in college and coming to Deweys when we first opened are now bringing their kids and Mother and Father's here to join in the fun. We believe that our success is built on the "local" folks liking what we have to offer and of course we don't want to diminish the clout that the tourists have either we have served many of them over the years.

We offer a large varety of foods from different cultures that can fulfill any taste. We also maintain a Daily Specials Menu that is changed regularly allowing our patrons to enjoy a good variety of foods beyond our regular menu.
